Relay for Lincoln April ’21

Relay for Lincoln

The countdown is on for Relay for Lincoln! Here are the first 5 classes that are competing on April 28th:

Team Kindergarten is made up of 10 students who love learning their letters, numbers, and colors from their teacher Mrs. Rogers. The class collectively decided their favorite color is blue and they could eat chocolate ice cream and pizza for lunch every day. If they could have one wish it would be for a hamster as a classroom pet. Good luck, Mrs. Rogers! These precious students love jumping rope during recess, working out with Coach Lyle during Fit Leadership, and learning more and more about Jesus.

Team First Grade, taught by Mrs. Thornton, consists of 8 boys and girls. These kind and energetic athletes love listening and learning about Jesus every single day in addition to learning how to read a variety of books and how to add and subtract numbers. When not preparing for the race, you can find these precious little ones playing “Red Light, Green Light” or “Shadow Tag” on the playground. As a group, they decided their favorite color is blue. If they could have one wish it would be for a vanilla ice cream party with all the toppings!

Team Second Grade is made up of 7 determined and dedicated athletes! These little ones love learning and hearing about Jesus from their wonderful teacher Ms. Goodson! As a team, they decided that their favorite color is blue, “Shadow Tag” is the best recess pastime, and tacos, by far, are the greatest food on earth. If they could make one wish, they would wish for a sweet puppy as a classroom pet.

Team Third Grade is made up of 7 determined and dedicated athletes! These students love learning how to multiply and divide, participating in hands-on projects through their Makerspace Class, and most importantly, they love hearing about Jesus from their wonderful teacher Mrs. Dawson. As a team, they decided that their favorite color is blue, an intense game of volleyball is the best recess pastime, and if they could eat one ice cream flavor for the rest of the year, chocolate was the way to go! These boys and girls love cheering on the Los Angeles Lakers, and they have been training so hard for this year’s Relay for Lincoln Event.

Team Fourth Grade is made up of 8 determined and hardworking athletes! These students love coming to school and learning  more about Jesus from their wonderful teacher Mrs. Foster. As a team, they decided that their favorite color is turquoise, Four Square is by far the best game to play during recess, and if they could eat one ice cream flavor for the rest of the year, chocolate was the way to go! These boys and girls love watching and cheering for the Los Angeles Lakers, and they love cheering on their fellow teammates as they prepare for this year’s Relay for Lincoln Event!

Will you prayerfully consider sponsoring a team as they run laps for the school they love? Visit our website below to make your pledge today!

Just a few miles from the most expensive houses in the inner city of Huntsville were men, women, and children surviving without the basic necessities. No running water or electricity. Plumbing didn’t work and floors were rotted from leaking pipes. Children had broken toys and went to bed hungry. A man with a heart for this inner city neighborhood stepped into the home of a little girl and her mother. That visit opened the man’s eyes and eventually a community’s eyes to the great need in their midst: the  need for Christ.

Lincoln Village Ministries is the product of one man’s call to action. The call has spread all over the city of Huntsville to pour out the hope and love of Jesus Christ into the Lincoln community.

Little Linc Preschool

The Month of Oct ’19

Little Linc Preschool celebrated the coming of our Savior with our annual Christmas program.  The children opened the program by reciting John 1:14, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”  Parents and friends were delighted to see the children dressed up and acting out the Christmas story. While the preschoolers were adorable and innocent in their retelling of the first Christmas, they also communicated a powerful truth to their families.  The Creator of the Universe took on the humble form of humanity in order to be our Rescuer. I John 4:14 says “And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.” Jesus’ eyes were always on the cross. Please pray with us that our Little Linc students and their families will believe the truth of the Gospel and walk in relationship with Jesus!

Little Linc was also blessed in December with incredibly generous gifts from local individuals, churches, and schools.  The gifts of snacks and little toys for our “marble store” (a reward for good behavior) greatly offset our expenses at the preschool.  And the gifts of new shoes, pajamas, toys, gingerbread houses, and other necessities that were shared with each child were such an encouragement to each family.  Parenting can be challenging, but a little gift like new socks can help encourage and alleviate some stress. Thanks to all of our wonderful partners who were the hands and feet of Jesus to our families this Christmas!
