Little Linc Preschool

The students at Little Linc Preschool are learning and thriving this school year.  One of our favorite parts of preschool is our tray work time.  Inspired by the Montessori method, our staff has developed age appropriate activities which help the children reach their learning goals.  Instead of a worksheet to learn colors or shapes, the children can use very engaging materials to sort and name the colors and shapes.  Our trays focus on fine motor, math, and literacy skills, and with 30-40 new trays every month, the children always have new challenges.  The children absolutely love tray time!  They are able to move independently around the classroom to choose their work and bring it back to their seat.  The teachers are there to support the children and review concepts, but the children are able to be self directed in completing their work.  If you know any three year olds, you know they like to do things by themselves!  What a joy to channel that God-given independence in a way that helps the child learn, gain independence, and enjoy the feeling of finishing a task well.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for our preschool this year!  We are so thankful for your support!  Please continue to pray that the Lord will use our Bible bag program to draw every family closer to Himself.  It is such a blessing to see the families writing down prayer requests from their family devotional time.  One sweet mom came to our staff requesting another children’s Bible for her sister who also wanted to read the stories to her child.  What a joy to see these families being blessed and encouraged by reading the Bible with their preschoolers, so much so that others see it and want that for their own family!  Praise the Lord!

Just a few miles from the most expensive houses in the inner city of Huntsville were men, women, and children surviving without the basic necessities. No running water or electricity. Plumbing didn’t work and floors were rotted from leaking pipes. Children had broken toys and went to bed hungry. A man with a heart for this inner city neighborhood stepped into the home of a little girl and her mother. That visit opened the man’s eyes and eventually a community’s eyes to the great need in their midst: the  need for Christ.

Lincoln Village Ministries is the product of one man’s call to action. The call has spread all over the city of Huntsville to pour out the hope and love of Jesus Christ into the Lincoln community.

Little Linc Preschool

The Month of Oct ’19

Little Linc Preschool celebrated the coming of our Savior with our annual Christmas program.  The children opened the program by reciting John 1:14, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”  Parents and friends were delighted to see the children dressed up and acting out the Christmas story. While the preschoolers were adorable and innocent in their retelling of the first Christmas, they also communicated a powerful truth to their families.  The Creator of the Universe took on the humble form of humanity in order to be our Rescuer. I John 4:14 says “And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.” Jesus’ eyes were always on the cross. Please pray with us that our Little Linc students and their families will believe the truth of the Gospel and walk in relationship with Jesus!

Little Linc was also blessed in December with incredibly generous gifts from local individuals, churches, and schools.  The gifts of snacks and little toys for our “marble store” (a reward for good behavior) greatly offset our expenses at the preschool.  And the gifts of new shoes, pajamas, toys, gingerbread houses, and other necessities that were shared with each child were such an encouragement to each family.  Parenting can be challenging, but a little gift like new socks can help encourage and alleviate some stress. Thanks to all of our wonderful partners who were the hands and feet of Jesus to our families this Christmas!
