Little Linc Preschool

February Fun

Our Little Linc Preschool parents and grandparents are wonderful!   We had so much fun hosting a Valentines craft time for the children to enjoy with a family member.  They made cards to bless and encourage a friend. Please pray with us that each Little Linc family will experience the love of our Heavenly Father!  “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” I John 4:10

At Little Linc, we use Montessori style tray work to engage the children for their independent work.  The teachers prepare the tray work so that everything available to the children is a “good choice.” The children are actively engaged, moving freely around the room to choose the materials they want to work with. The teachers are able to meet individually with the children during this time to reinforce the lesson on the tray.

Would you like to be a blessing to Little Linc Preschool this month?  We need more small toys and treats for our “Marble Store.” The children earn marbles in a jar for good behavior during the week and are allowed to go shopping for treats on Friday.  It has been a wonderful motivator for good behavior in the classrooms! But our treats are running low! If you would like to donate any smallish toys, we would be so grateful! We can use very small things like slap bracelets or bouncy balls to larger items like a Barbie or small doll.  Things that are very large or expensive (over $5) would not be the best. Thank you so much for considering helping us in this way! You can drop off donations at the preschool or in the Lincoln Village Ministry Office.

Just a few miles from the most expensive houses in the inner city of Huntsville were men, women, and children surviving without the basic necessities. No running water or electricity. Plumbing didn’t work and floors were rotted from leaking pipes. Children had broken toys and went to bed hungry. A man with a heart for this inner city neighborhood stepped into the home of a little girl and her mother. That visit opened the man’s eyes and eventually a community’s eyes to the great need in their midst: the  need for Christ.

Lincoln Village Ministries is the product of one man’s call to action. The call has spread all over the city of Huntsville to pour out the hope and love of Jesus Christ into the Lincoln community.

The Month of Oct ’19

Little Linc Preschool celebrated the coming of our Savior with our annual Christmas program.  The children opened the program by reciting John 1:14, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”  Parents and friends were delighted to see the children dressed up and acting out the Christmas story. While the preschoolers were adorable and innocent in their retelling of the first Christmas, they also communicated a powerful truth to their families.  The Creator of the Universe took on the humble form of humanity in order to be our Rescuer. I John 4:14 says “And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.” Jesus’ eyes were always on the cross. Please pray with us that our Little Linc students and their families will believe the truth of the Gospel and walk in relationship with Jesus!

Little Linc was also blessed in December with incredibly generous gifts from local individuals, churches, and schools.  The gifts of snacks and little toys for our “marble store” (a reward for good behavior) greatly offset our expenses at the preschool.  And the gifts of new shoes, pajamas, toys, gingerbread houses, and other necessities that were shared with each child were such an encouragement to each family.  Parenting can be challenging, but a little gift like new socks can help encourage and alleviate some stress. Thanks to all of our wonderful partners who were the hands and feet of Jesus to our families this Christmas!
