Please sign up for Adopt a Lincoln Village Garden/Yard!
We wanted to let you know about some new opportunities to volunteer at LVM, while still social distancing safely. As you know, we have a large neighborhood, complete with residences, a K-8 school & a 3/4yr preschool that could use some help with landscaping. We would love to have each garden area or section of lawns touched on once a week by various volunteers. This could be an opportunity for a community/life/small group to take care of an area once a month, twice a month or even weekly. Your group can sign-up to “adopt” that specific area and keep it looking nice. This can be a long or short term commitment. Thank you in advance!

We are excited about continued progress being made at our Levert Street properties in Lincoln North.
The walls in this 3-plex are now blown completely full of insulation and we are ready to get the drywall hung. The insulation process is of great importance, in that it helps create as energy efficient a property as possible in these homes that have not previously had insulation. When drywall is installed in one of Lincoln’s renovations it takes on a much more “finished” look.
While there is still a lot to be done – we’re getting closer & closer to providing new housing & welcoming new people to the Lincoln family.
Next steps will be priming, painting, and cabinets… getting closer! Please be praying for the families who will soon be joining the Lincoln family!
Thanks to the people who jumped on board this week, along with Blake from Gifted Global, out of Georgia.
Their work & their donation of tools are greatly appreciated & a great encouragement to our staff!
The teachers of Little Linc Preschool are thrilled to be serving the Lincoln community once again with a safe and God-focused childcare program. What a blessing for all of us to begin to return to “normal” and live in community again! We are deeply thankful for the generosity of our supporters who quickly purchased everything we needed to keep our preschoolers safe! From cleaning supplies to masks to face shields to HEPA filters, you gave it all! Thank you for making it possible for our children to return to school!
With new safety measures and protocols in place, we’ve had to get creative to communicate daily lessons to our students. But we are thankful to know that the love of Jesus is not restricted by face masks! We can still pray with our students, tell them Bible stories, and explain to each child how precious they are to their Heavenly Father. What a blessing to focus on our mission to share the transforming power of the Gospel of Christ with every family at Little Linc!
God went before us this summer and provided a grant from the Kiwanis Club to expand our preschool playground. Our playground project involved adding a new section to the playground so that each preschool class can be outside as much as they are able without the classes sharing the same space. Little did we know at the time we were requesting the grant that this would be a primary recommendation for keeping children safe at school! God is so good to guide our steps! We are incredibly thankful to the Kiwanis Club and the many, many individuals who gave their time and talent to make this new playground space a labor of love. Our children absolutely love it!
The day before school started we had a wonderful turn out for our drive up “Meet and Greet” with the parents and students. Everyone was so excited to see each other.
We are beyond thrilled to be able to start the year with face to face instruction! On the first day of school, one of our sweet students said it best. “I’m about to cry ’cause the whole gang’s getting back together!” We have truly missed one another over the last 5 months. Thank you, Lord, for allowing us to gather together and love on our children! Please continue to pray for protection over all of our children, their families and our staff. We have implemented so many new safety guidelines this year to mitigate risk. The students are doing a terrific job following our main three guidelines – Mask Up, Wash Up, Back Up!
We are happy to welcome Ms. Laura Kay Richardson to the Lincoln Academy family! She is our new fifth grade teacher this year.
The possibility of having a community-wide Christian revival has been faithfully prayed about for several years. This particular event, Gathering 2020, has been prayed about diligently for the last couple of years. With this much prayer coverage with our Lord and after careful consideration, the leadership team discussed and confirmed at today’s monthly Gathering 2020 meeting that our August event at the VBC will be postponed to a future date.
Thank you to these faithful volunteers! In this group we have one friend who was recently introduced to Lincoln and has now been here three Saturdays in a row. Two friends who previously worked at Learning Lab and who have found a new way to serve. Also joining them was a group from Summit Crossing Church. We are so thankful for each of you!
Hear the extraordinary story of what God can do through those who are willing to show up. Below is part one of a multi-part series of how the obedience of one man has led to the restoration of a community and the redemption of lives.
Dianara and her daughter have been Lincoln residents for 3 years. Each year, our staff has watched Dianara grow spiritually, physically, emotionally, and financially. She has participated in Lincoln’s Matched Savings Program to save for a down payment, and through our partnership with Habitat for Humanity, Dianara has reached her goal of owning her own home – which is in the process of being built! It is an honor to walk alongside Dianara and not only see her dreams come true, but also see God’s dreams for her come true…
As we came to the close of our unconventional end-of-school year, we came up with a plan to make craft kits for the students, as a gift to get their summer started. We asked for donations of fun items that the kids could use creatively as they were social distancing. The response was overwhelming! We received so many sweet and thoughtful items from our volunteers and friends of the ministry, ensuring that each child had a special gift. Thank you so much for your generosity and for blessing our families in this way! We are so thankful for each of you. ~Phillipians 1:3
