Banquet Bouquet September ’20

To jump start our banquet season, we offered these beautiful flower arrangements for porch pickup last Friday. We wanted to give our supporters a little glimpse of the joy and happiness found right here within our community!!! One of our very own residents planted and grew these incredibly beautiful zinnias!!! How talented is our neighbor friend?!?! All we asked for in return was for the recipient to prayerfully consider a donation to our upcoming banquet. Follow us on FaceBook and Instagram so you won’t miss out on the next surprise!

Butler Family September ’20

Scott Butler was truly a blessing to our staff and to the Lincoln community. His gentle spirit, kind words, and big smile always brightened our day. His family has always supported Lincoln and are now giving funds in his memory to renovate a home on Levert St. What a wonderful tribute to Scott’s legacy at Lincoln. We so appreciate his family’s willingness to continue to support God’s work in our neighborhood.

Ambassadors September ’20

August 25th we welcomed our new class of Lincoln Ambassadors through a virtual meeting. We are incredibly thankful for their willingness to walk alongside the ministry over the next 2 years to learn more in-depth about Lincoln to then help us spread awareness in the community. Please join us in welcoming the following:

Volunteer Thank You September ’20 | Lincoln Village

A big thanks to one of our new ambassadors, Adrian Hargrove of Affinity Recruiting, LLC, who organized a group of volunteers to come and help us out at one of our Lincoln North homes that is nearing completion. Some of them were returning friends of LVM and some were experiencing the neighborhood for the first time.

Thanks also to some families from 1st Baptist of Huntsville who spent a Saturday morning working in Lincoln. Cleaning, landscaping & assisting a resident — their energy was put to good use & greatly appreciated. Another church group from St. Andrews came Labor Day weekend. So very thoughtful of them to come to labor at Lincoln!

We also appreciate our McMullen Cove families that returned to work in our front flower beds. Our front entrance looks great!

We are grateful for these and all of our volunteers! If you would like to come help with landscaping or work on a house, please contact our volunteer coordinator: for more information. We look
forward to meeting you!

Lincoln Academy September ’20

We are happy to have 72 students who returned to Lincoln Academy this year! Our students have acclimated to all of the safety procedures and routines very well. Each morning we screen the students, check their temperatures, and ask them to sanitize hands before we send them to class. Our motto is “Mask Up, Wash Up, Back Up” and we practice this throughout the day. Students and staff wear a mask all day and we social distance when we are in the classroom, as well as when we are outside. Some awesome volunteers made water bottle holders this summer and attached them to every desk. Each child is able to have a water bottle at his/her desk. The teachers have been very creative and made individual school supply containers, as well as activity totes for each child. This helps cut down on personal contact with others. Our volunteers also made acrylic privacy shields for each classroom. Teachers are able to utilize these when they are working with a student. While some of our daily activities may look a little different, the main things have stayed the same. We are enjoying relationships, making sure the children feel seen and heard, pouring in to them and teaching them about God’s unbelievable love for them! Thank you for your prayers and support!

Little Linc September ’20

At Little Linc Preschool, our days begin with Bible time. Our preschool exists to share the transforming power of the Gospel of Christ, so prioritizing the teaching of God’s Word is so important! Over the fall, the children will learn key stories from the Old Testament, starting with how God made the world and how sin entered the world. We focus on our need for a Savior culminating at Advent when Jesus is born. In the spring, we will learn about the life and ministry of Jesus, especially focusing on His death and resurrection.

The Bible stories are brought to life with small wooden characters the teachers use to tell the stories. By the end of the week, the children participate in the retelling and are then allowed to tell the stories by themselves during their free choice time. We know that children learn through play, and we love giving them a chance to “play” with the Bible stories. The teachers incorporate songs and prayer during Bible time every day, and the children make a craft to remind them of the Bible story. These crafts are collected over the year into a keepsake notebook for the family to enjoy. The preschoolers are also memorizing the Lord’s Prayer with sign language this fall. We know that the words of scripture are alive and active, and we trust the Lord to use those words hidden in these young hearts for His glory.

One of our greatest joys at Little Linc is sharing the Bible lessons with our families. Every child is given an age appropriate Bible and binder with the lesson for the week. The lessons were written by one of our preschool staff and include tips for the parents to engage their child, discussion questions, and prayer suggestions. There is also a place to write down family prayer requests. Each week, the children bring their binder back to school in their special Bible bag to receive a treat and new lesson. Please pray with us that our families will choose to make time in God’s Word a priority and that every parent and child will have a relationship with Jesus!
